A lot of readers already know that I’ve been involved in a long-distance love affair with the city of Paris, France, for quite a few years. I’ve shared that particular passion through books, artwork, and stories. With the 2024 summer Olympic Games, now officially tagged as Paris 2024, set to dazzle the world from July 26 – August 11, there’s no better time than now to share the poem below from Visions of A Skylark Dressed in Black.
Will this poem, or the Olympic Games themselves, resolve the disruptive conflicts and historic political developments playing out across the globe right now? Of course not, but it can provide a momentary (for some possibly longer) breather from those more distressing issues flooding our social media feeds these days.
