Known for blending artistic disciplines to provide insightful commentaries on the human condition, author and artist-documentarian Aberjhani launched the online edition of his Angels of Freedom and Democracy series in 2025 with two sets of images. The first set has been employed as illustrations for articles, poems, and essays.
Also rolled out the same time as the first set was…, used on the cover of Democratic Dilemmas and Divine Intervention.
The second set of images is a curated selection of four collectible images. According to the posted description, “The American Angels of Freedom and Democracy Series is a visualization and recognition of the concepts of liberty and democracy embodied in the U.S. Constitution as the country approaches the 250th anniversary of American independence on July 4, 2026.”
Images included so far are titled: Because We Are the People 1 & 2, American Angel with Flame and Guitar, and American Angel with Students of History. The work as a whole continues the exploration of observations and concerns expressed in his 2025 Kindle short Democratic Dilemmas and Divine Inspiration, and posts on his Instagram profile.
“I should point out,” said Aberjhani, “that the series also commemorates the thousands of No Kings protest rallies held across the country in 2025, which is why primary figures in the images often resemble those described as ‘marginalized.’ It’s always amazing to see Americans gather en masse to protest oppressive conditions and demand change in ways that people in many other countries cannot.”
The artwork is available in a variety of framed print sizes and gift item formats, including coffee cups, duvet covers, t-shirts, tote bags, stationery, and other items.
